Terms of Use

Last updated: October 22, 2026

In short: Fairmile helps you keep a mileage log, but it is not tax advice; check your log and your claim. Pro subscriptions renew through Apple until you cancel.

These terms apply to the Fairmile app for iPhone, made by Ori Studios (“we”, “us”). The app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”), together with these terms. If the two conflict, these terms apply, to the extent the Apple EULA allows. By using Fairmile you agree to both.

Not tax or legal advice

Fairmile records drives and applies published mileage rates from the IRS, CRA, HMRC, Revenue, ATO and IRD. Rates, rules and what you may claim depend on your situation and change over time. Reports are a record-keeping aid, not tax, accounting or legal advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your log and for what you claim; if in doubt, ask a tax professional or your tax authority.

Accuracy of drives

Distances come from your iPhone's GPS and can differ from your car's odometer. A drive can be missed or cut short, for example when location access is limited, Low Power Mode is on, the phone has no signal or an automation does not run. Review your drives before you rely on a report.

Use while driving

Do not interact with your iPhone in a way that distracts you from driving. Fairmile is designed to work without input while you drive; review drives when it is safe and legal to do so. Obey local laws on phone use in vehicles.

Your data

Your drives stay on your device. How the app handles data is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping backups of your iPhone if you need your log later.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update Fairmile, add or remove features, or update these terms. If a change to these terms is significant, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Fairmile after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Warranty and liability

Fairmile is provided “as is”, as described in the Apple EULA. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost deductions, penalties or interest arising from records made with the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded where you live.
